Your role within Queensland Government Accommodation Office will support the department to sustainably manage a significant building and residential portfolio, including office accommodation, government employee residences, convention centres, heritage buildings, bridges, statues, and other property assets. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.The role is responsible for implementing asset policy and delivering performance improvements in the government office accommodation portfolio. It is integral in driving improvements in the management and utilisation of the Government's office accommodation portfolio, particularly the management of owned assets.What You Will Be DoingProviding leadership and direction to a specialist multi-disciplinary asset, property and management teams that manage the implementation of strategic asset management principles, property operations and management, leasing, maintenance, facilities management and operations.Providing strategic leadership to ensure the effective planning, development and delivery of major capital investment and minor works refurbishment projects.Providing strategic and operational advice through briefings, business plans, programs, reports, submissions and correspondence on strategic asset, property, lease and facilities management issues relating to State Government owned assets.Ensuring the effective financial control and management of all revenue and expenditure associated with the procurement, operation and maintenance of the owned office and special estates portfolio to support government priorities.Representing the department on high-level government committees and in interactions with private sector, industry groups and other State and Commonwealth property related bodies in relation to significant issues affecting property operations, management and building policy.Liaising, coordinating and consulting with Senior Executives both within and external to the department, local governments, industry representatives, other stakeholders and the community to ensure that the owned office and special estates portfolio meet operational and environmental performance requirements in accordance with established objectives.Developing, reviewing and implementing policies and programs for the effective operation and management of the State Government owned asset portfolio.The Skills You Will Need Include Being Able ToTechnical expertise in property operations and management with a track record of delivering outcomes.Demonstrated experience in strategic asset management, leasing, maintenance and facilities management and operations.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.Experience in leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team.Experience in engaging with other government agencies, local governments, industry representatives, and the community.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Policy & Planning
