The role of a Principal Architect is a critical pursuit role working with BDM's Account managers to define solution strategy and direction where you are required to drive governance and garner approvals of business partners within Optus. Working closely with sales and bid teams to drive customer and business outcomes, the Principal Architect is required to be a contributor to Contractual, Legal and customer engagement. Your day in the life of a Principal Architect at Optus Drive thought leadership with key strategic accounts to develop technology strategies, roadmaps and transformation programs. Provide comprehensive, whole-of-business professional Design & Consultancy services to new and existing Enterprise customers, whilst being highly proactive with sales engagement and designated customer accounts for the development of the best value and solutions. Develop sophisticated and at times non-standard solutions to meet the needs of Enterprise Customers, as Solution Lead through the coordination and leadership of a virtual team of domain specialists from local and national resource pools. Improve Optus's Enterprise service offerings by working with Product Managers and Capability Development Groups. Your skills to pay the bills Relevant professional qualifications in IT and engineering complimented with lengthy hands on experience working in the communications & Information Technology industries providing technical and advisory support. Broad-based ICT/Telecommunications systems design background with detailed understanding of enterprise-wide system architecture and service management methodologies and comprehensive understanding of industry trends. Strong consulting and ICT selling skills together with experience in the evolution of long term business relationships and developing strategic sales plans are essential. Proven track record in leading major design teams through setting the architecture strategy, including leading RFT submission activities. Being able to work under pressure and tight timeframes to meet RFP schedules. Able to work with Finance and Legal groups as part of a RFP process. Proactive in the establishment of professional relationships at appropriate levels with the customer structure. Able to quickly develop relationships and credibility with senior management and maintain those relationships the duration of the project lifecycle. Strong verbal, written, documentation and design, presentation and effective listening skills, complimented with fantastic ability to build connections and make sales.
