As a Principal Analyst (Spatial Data Analytics) you will:
Lead and manage components of the team's program of works (both business as usual and project based) including but not limited to scoping, resourcing and delivery.
Lead and manage the GMP's core datasets on land, housing, demographic, employment, infrastructure, and related data to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring activities of Regional and Spatial Planning.
Develop and publish easy to understand statistics and insights on growth, land supply, housing, development potential and trends, and related topics for Queensland in a variety of formats (i.e. tables, graphs and maps).
Process, report, and monitor data requests from customers within and external to the department in a timely and efficient manner.
Lead the optimal use and application of GIS and Extract Transform Load (ETL) technologies in the team. The Department uses Esri ArcGIS and Safe Software's FME for ETL data processing.
Implement and maintain data governance policies to ensure data is secure, accurate, available, and usable.
Create and maintain effective working relationships with key project stakeholders and data custodians, including but not limited to other state agencies, local governments, infrastructure agencies, industry peak bodies, technical experts and developers.
Provide strategic advice and recommendations to government about the implications of policy changes identified to respond to supply and demand issues.
Prepare and review detailed technical and strategic advice about regional planning and provide support to senior management and to internal and external stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional and spatial planning project outcomes are achieved.
Work with a diverse stakeholder base on technical and strategic aspects of monitoring processes and their outputs which relate to Planning Group's broader purpose to unlock sustainable development and deliver economic growth, better environments and stronger spatial and growth strategies.
