This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Student Engagement and Alternative Learning team in the Disability, Inclusion and Student Services branch as Principal Advisor, Office of the Executive Director. The successful applicant will be a capable instructional leader with strong organisational, communication and project management skills who will support the Executive Director and executive team to lead the team to deliver critical project and strategic functions for the Department of Education. This is a temporary full-time position until 30 June 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About the role:As the Principal Advisor you will:
Prepare and provide high level advice and support to the Executive Director and other senior officers of State Schools Division with respect to the statewide implementation of strategic policy initiatives as they relate to state schooling including Australian government and whole of government initiatives, emerging initiatives and schooling policies and procedures.Develop, manage and quality assure the preparation of high-level responses, reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence, as well as responses to the annual cycle of corporate strategic, budgeting and reporting requirements.Respond to and coordinate responses to complex and sensitive issues and complaints emanating from the Office of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General and other high-level sources.Lead and manage team members and projects and establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders and clients.Develop, maintain and foster effective networks, consultation and liaison between the division, other program areas overseeing state schooling, other government departments, State and Commonwealth and other key stakeholders and partners in the support of the department's strategic agenda.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of Schools and Student Support Division priorities for all students in state schools.Interested?
