Principal Advisor Right to Information & Privacy Government - State (Government & Defence)
You will help drive the visibility of RTI and Privacy and promote a RTI and Privacy compliant culture across DJAG by:
Making, and supervising the making of defensible, reviewable decisions under the RTI and IP Acts in accordance with the principles of those Acts, and administrative release guidelines.
These include decisions on more complex applications.
Assisting business units by preparing privacy impact assessments with practical, reasonable, and cost-effective recommendations.
Preparing and supervising the preparation of accurate and meaningful advice to internal and external stakeholders on more complex issues arising from the administration of the RTI and IP Acts, including any matters arising from the commencement of IPOLA.
Managing and supervising the management of complaints made under the IP Act and reported breaches of the IP Act to achieve best outcomes for internal and external clients.
Assisting in the identification, development, and implementation of practice standards to ensure the ongoing efficient and effective implementation of right to information and information privacy in DJAG and in affiliated statutory bodies.
Representing DJAG and affiliated statutory bodies in mediations and external reviews with the Office of the Information Commissioner in consultation with the Manager and Director and effectively implementing their recommendations.
Actively participating in the implementation and delivery of RTI and Privacy's internal and external communication strategy, including training, to raise the profile of RTI and Privacy within DJAG.
Committing to the ongoing education and training and development of a team of Senior Advisors and supporting an innovative and cohesive group of professionals in a dynamic workplace which deals with diverse matters.
