We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organised individual to drive and lead a Project Finance team. The role is based in our CBD Project office, where you will be working on a billion-dollar ECP gold project.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance role on the project, ensuring alignment with project and corporate goals.
Prepare and submit progress claims as per project contractual requirements.
Monitor and identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement across business processes and ERP systems (D365, Ineight, etc.).
Liaise with cost control to maintain and review project-specific transactions, ensuring accurate and timely financial information within the ERP (D365) and Cost Control application (Ineight).
Manage project payroll accounting and reporting.
Review and process project accounting activities such as revenue, cost accruals, cost journals, and internal recharges in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the project team to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, analysing cost and revenue variances, and escalating anomalies and forecast risks.
Ensure compliance with corporate monthly finance requirements.
Manage project cash flow and cash flow forecasts.
Control and communicate project financial deliverables and deadlines to ensure compliance with external and internal reporting requirements.
Ensure project forecasts and margin recognition align with accounting standards and/or Primero's policies.
Meet project foreign exchange accounting requirements, including foreign currency billings and procurement.
Supervise, guide, and mentor direct reports.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Controls Manager or Manager Finance.
What you 'Can do'
Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar field.
Experienced as lead finance or senior project accountant within a project in the resource industry.
Understanding of project revenue and cost recognition terms that are relevant to the industry.
Ability to work autonomously and as a strong team contributor.
Experience with the following systems D365 Finance and Operations and/or InEight is highly desirable.
Advanced analytical skills and advanced Microsoft skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively exercise initiative and discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Reimbursable, Target Cost Contract experience is highly desirable.
