Primary School Teacher Or Allied Health

We are looking for a 1:1 teacher for a 5-year-old boy with autism, 20-30 hours/week, $50-65 per hour, walkable location from Wentworth train station.You don't need experience in autism - we are happy to sponsor professional development - but must have a relevant degree like primary school teacher, OT or similar.The role is to spend a few hours in the morning with our child. We use play-based therapy like ESDM, and guidelines from our speech therapist to encourage language development. You will be helping him develop independence in getting ready for the day during activities of daily living, doing a 1-hour play-based therapy session (at home or the school depending on the day), and getting him to school. The same pattern occurs 3 afternoons per week, and slightly longer hours during school holidays, with 3-4 weeks not working at all.What are we really looking for?Innate joy in watching a child progress and gain new skills.A dedication to the craft of pedagogy.Commitment. We will invest time and professional development, and in return ask for stability, and being fully engaged with him in this precious window of development time.We will be happy to sponsor training and professional development - the last teacher we worked with did a short online course at Wollongong, followed by once a week online practical tutorials, and we will pay for this time also plus lesson preparation time.
