About the Role The Primary Care Development Officer (PCDO) works in the Primary Care Team to deliver on the PHN's strategic objectives by engaging with Primary Health Care Providers (General Practices) to improve their viability and sustainability.
The overall goal is to engage with General Practices to support equitable access to high-quality health care for all people in our communities.
This involves delivering initiatives aimed at supporting general practice businesses to maximise financial success, achieve efficient and effective business operations, deliver high quality health care services and to optimise the workforce capacity of the whole general practice team.
The role is multifaceted and involves a range of work procedures, for example, proactive planning, analytical skills, providing technical or specialised advice and guidance to others on a subject matter.
The role is based on customer service principles to develop and maintain effective working relationships with general practice owners, managers, and the workforce to support long-term success.
The successful candidate will have: Demonstrated change management skills and/or qualifications Advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills including a positive attitude, emotional intelligence, collaboration, decision-making, networking, motivation, teamwork, collaboration, negotiation.
Demonstrated skills and capability to coach and support teams in primary care business environment.
