As a Pricing & Strategy Specialist you will provide direction and oversight of delivered pricing, market insights and maintenance of the Commercial and Industrial markets interface with retail and marketing groups, supporting high-quality trading and commercial decision making.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for C&I customer pricing in order to manage financial risk and strategy in energy markets by adding value through excellence in:
Driving gross margin through the provision of end-to-end electricity, gas and renewables pricing for customers which is consistent with retail C&I risk policyKeeping abreast of retail C&I gas, electricity and renewable energy market changes and managing their impact on pricingIdentification and development of new pricing models, strategies, products, processes and reports that effectively meet the changes in the retail C&I markets and improve the businessDealing and negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders with different objectives, achieving stakeholder alignmentEffectively manage end to end pricing consistent with accepted methodologies and risk policyReviewing/developing C&I pricing methodology development with strong buy in from all stakeholdersDevelopment and implementation of delivered pricing strategiesDevelop strategic initiatives to aid business growth and market competitivenessMaintenance and development of retail C&I pricing platforms and pricing modelsSupport C&I customers through provision of C&I market conditions, market intelligence, market and process training and external customer interactionsEngage with other business units within including renewables, forecasting and analyticsNegotiate with internal and external stakeholders requesting structured products and significant energy deals offered to end customers including pricing and commercial termsProvide advice regarding transfer pricing, pricing outcomes and market intelligenceAct as a representative for C&I pricing in the interface with external customers, counterparties or other bodiesManage relationships with those who are customer facing and support leaders and teams; including development of training, processes and communicationProvide value through continuous improvement of C&I pricing systems
Position Requirements
A tertiary qualification a quantitative disciplineAt least 10 years of relevant experienceExceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skillsIn depth understanding of retail C&I energy markets and systemsOutstanding knowledge and experience in the Australian energy market/industryStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsVery strong commercial acumen and appreciation of risk managementAbility to develop strategies to balance risk/returnAbility to seek innovative ways to meet business requirements and overcome deficiencies within existing data streams and/or systemsChallenge assumptions, not just accepting of the normDemonstrable initiative and ability to work without close supervisionTrack record in presenting to and building relationshipsMeasurable experience with system and process improvementAbility to balance commercial risk verses competitiveness
