Health Behaviour Mental State Role Statement In consultation with the Programs Manager, this role will primarily support the delivery of the RSPCA WA community outreach events and education Program. In addition, the role will also assist with other prevention programs where required, such as the pet sterilisation program and pets in crisis program. The programs aim to provide a vibrant and visible touchpoint for community members to become involved in improving animal welfare and providing much needed prevention programs. This role will also be responsible for researching and securing grants where possible and working with key stakeholders to effectively deliver these events as well as work to implement marketing activities and effective promotion to ensure widespread coverage in Western Australia.

Accountabilities for this role include: In consultation with the Programs Manager, assist in developing and reviewing RSPCA WA's annual calendar of events. Implement plans to recruit, retain and engage event participants to increase their participation and support before, during and after events. Prepare risk management plans, briefings, and notes. Apply for appropriate licenses and approvals. Work with current volunteers to plan education programs. Liaise with stakeholders including volunteers, suppliers, contractors, stall holders, security, community groups, RSPCA WA staff etc. at all stages of events and activities to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place. Deliver all RSPCA WA community events and activities to a high professional standard that are on time, within budget and scope, including logistics and internal/external stakeholder engagement and communications. Work with the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to recruit, engage and retain a strong volunteer team for events and activities. Oversee merchandise, event equipment, promotional infrastructure, and signage, along with ordering, storage, distribution, and stock levels. Assist current volunteers in the delivery of education programs in schools. In consultation with the Programs Manager and Communications team, identify marketing opportunities to promote events and community activities. Organise appropriate advertising and liaise with appropriate suppliers, including maintaining existing contracts, to assist in ensuring maximum coverage and attendance at the RSPCA WA events. Ensure websites are updated with information relating to events, promotions and other community activities as required. Work within set budgets to deliver annual program. Manage expenditure for events to deliver cost effective outcomes. Negotiate in-kind or reduced rates with event suppliers as advised by the Programs Manager. Work with wider team and individually to identify event sponsorship opportunities and ensure sponsors are serviced to the highest standard. Where necessary prepare grant and sponsorship submissions for some events. Provide post event evaluation of events and activities and where needed recommendations for the future. Post event communications to Council, corporate supporters, volunteers, and staff to thank them for their participation and support. Conduct an evaluation/close out process within 4 weeks of each event focussing on the finalisation of budget, analysis of event attendance, organising a debrief if appropriate, collating, and analysing survey results, dispatch thank you emails, etc. Encourage and support education volunteers in obtaining feedback from schools they deliver the education program to. Ensure compliance with organisational and legislative policies, procedures, and requirements. Maintaining accurate constituent records for activities conducted within the program, financial results, and communications. Working within the frameworks of best practice and continuous improvement and keep up to date with fundraising standards and principles. Ensuring education volunteers have the appropriate police checks and working with children's card. Contribute positively to the wider team and organisation. Display a willingness / enthusiasm to engage with and carry out other tasks that support the wider team and organisation when required. Other duties as reasonably requested by RSPCA WA Management as the prevention programs evolve. Essential Experience in delivering community focused events/programs. Knowledge in animal specific industry/husbandry (over and above experience as a pet owner). Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure and control/maintain processes, people, and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to quickly learn and utilise new software applications. Current manual driver's license and able to travel for events. Good level of physical fitness. Desirable Experience working with volunteers will be highly regarded. Experience in the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded. Experience in developing new initiatives and activations for event participation and community engagement outcomes. Ability to provide sound advice to community members about their pets' health and wellbeing. A good understanding of significant animal welfare issues in WA.
