Prvention and Population Health Officer Contribute to a fresh, new integrated approach to improving public health in the Gippsland Region of Victoria Working with local people for local outcomes The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit led by Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) are looking for a Prevention and Population Health Officer to join the GRPHU team full time or part time, on an ongoing basis.
You'll play a vital role within the GRPHU to support the team in achieving outcomes and optimising public health outcomes for the community, and love the difference you can make every day you come to work.

Reporting to the Prevention and Population Health Lead, this role plays an important role in identifying  priorities for health promotion, primary prevention  and early intervention to achieve outcomes consistent with the Victorian P ublic H ealth and W ellbeing O utcomes F ramework .
Th is role takes  into  accoun t  the diversity of the local catchment ; r educing health inequalities is a key objective  of population health approaches, and factors such as gender equity and intersectionality will be important consideration in planning decisions and intervention design.
Our ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles and practices of population health, health promotion and chronic disease prevention; Contribute to the development of place-based health promotion projects including evaluation and monitoring  Participate in and contribute to the development of improved population health in the region by working with key stakeholders  Be able to effectively communicate and apply problem solving skills  In this position, the successful applicant will be working closely with existing Central Gippsland stakeholders across the Baw Baw and Latrobe catchment, the GRPHU regional teams and the community.
