The Opportunity
The WHS and Risk Manager leads Work Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management initiatives within the local government framework, ensuring compliance with Queensland WHS legislation, policies, and best practices. This role involves designing, monitoring, and improving safety programs and policies to reduce workplace hazards and risks.
About You Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher qualification – Mandatory Experience in WHS and risk management, preferably within local government or a public sector environment. Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice and risk management frameworks/principles applicable in Queensland. Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems. Driver's License Class C Clear National Criminal History Check or ability to acquire Prepared to Work Safely in the Construction Industry To Apply
