Our client is looking for a Pre-Construction Manager who can drive their project pipeline and ensure each opportunity is set up for success.
In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping the future of their projects by securing and preparing high-value opportunities before they reach the delivery phase.
You'll work closely with project leaders and key stakeholders to identify and secure the right projects at the right time.
Your role will involve strategic planning, detailed bid management, and cultivating strong client relationships.
You'll also act as a mentor, guiding your team through complex priorities and high-pressure situations with confidence.
Core Responsibilities
Drive Business Development:
Identify and pursue new opportunities, leveraging your market expertise to align with our client's strategic goals.
Manage Bids:
Oversee the complete bid lifecycle from opportunity identification to contract finalisation, ensuring high standards and compliance.
Strategise for Success:
Develop and execute bid strategies that resonate with client needs and align with our client's growth aspirations.
Risk Assessment:
Evaluate potential risks and provide actionable recommendations to the Managing Director and Division leaders.
Lead Negotiations:
Navigate commercial discussions with clients, securing favorable outcomes.
Report and Advise:
Deliver insights on both short-term prospects and long-term strategies, contributing to leadership discussions.
Foster Success:
Celebrate team milestones and contribute to a culture of achievement and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years in building construction, preferably with experience in large-scale commercial fit-outs and new build project (circa $10m).
Typically candidates will have experience in Estimating / Business Development / Project Management.
Relevant qualifications in Construction or Project Management are preferred.
Leadership and Influence:
Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Market Expertise:
Deep understanding of the commercial construction landscape, including knowledge of ECI and D&C models.
Bid Management Skills:
Experience managing the full bid process with a keen eye for detail and strategic insight.
Communication and Negotiation:
Excellent skills in negotiation and communication, capable of thriving in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
Financial Management:
Demonstrated understanding of financial management and adherence to budgets.
