The Practice Leader roles is located within the Greater Darwin and Central regions, will facilitate local implementation of agency agreed child protection and youth justice practice frameworks and models. The position will provide on-going support to staff and others to maintain the frameworks and deliver contemporary child protection and youth justice services to children, young people and their families. In addition, the incumbent will be required to implement professional development strategies and activities including mentoring, coaching and training to address identified needs.
To be successful, you require an Australian tertiary qualification which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Community Workers Association or the Australian Psychological Society or equivalent. A strong understanding of the principles and functions of supervising staff in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory welfare services, highly developed professional skills in conducting strength bases assessments, developing and delivering effective interventions and applying best practice principles. In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
