Reasonable workplace adjustments will be made for applicants with disabilities.Primary Objective: The Practice Leader will provide clinical services within Community Corrections to strengthen responses to sexual, domestic, and family violence through education, training, and supervision, and by mechanisms to increase staff resilience and wellbeing.Context Statement: The Community Corrections Practice Leadership Team aims to strengthen responses to domestic family and sexual offending and to build workforce capacity through strategies outlined in the Practice Enhancement and Resilience Framework.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Implement the practice enhancement framework and resilience framework under the supervision of the Senior Practice Leader.Work collaboratively with community corrections staff to operationalise practice initiatives.Contribute to the development of documents, templates, and record keeping relevant to practice enhancement.Deliver training and supervision to community corrections staff with a focus on best practice offender management, supporting staff resilience, and streamlining administrative procedures.Supervise management of high-risk violent and sexual offenders and support staff resilience.Complete risk assessment and treatment with high-risk offenders and provide reports to the Senior Practice Leader.Maintain stakeholder relationships and record-keeping to contribute to risk management of domestic and family violence.Selection Criteria:Essential:Tertiary qualifications in psychology or social work with unconditional eligibility for registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or the Australian Association of Social Workers.Experience working in a domestic, family, and sexual violence context and knowledge of contemporary justice theories.Ability to engage with Aboriginal clients in the Northern Territory context, demonstrated by a thorough understanding of cultural and contextual factors and the capacity to build agency and community relationships.Offender management expertise in risk assessment, maintenance treatment, and risk management interventions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in writing high-level statutory and risk management reports.Initiative and motivation to work autonomously, to lead, and the ability to mentor, train, and supervise others.Experience managing conflict, dual relationships, competing demands, and managing confidentiality, ethical decision making, and balancing service needs with statutory obligations.Knowledge of legislation relevant to Community Corrections and an understanding of community offender management contexts.Further Information:Successful applicants must hold a manual Northern Territory Driver's Licence and may be required to travel within regional and remote communities. Travel may be by road and air, including on outback roads in four-wheel drives, light aircraft, and boats. The Department has a Smoke-Free Policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on departmental premises, facilities, or in vehicles, nor whilst working off-site. The preferred applicant/s will be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and undergo a criminal history check prior to commencement of employment.
