CSD's Children, Youth and Families Division (CYF) currently have a vacancy for a Practice Leader to join the team. The Practice Leader is an enabling role that operates at both a strategic and operational level. Through the development and facilitation of training and practice development activities, the role will influence best practice across CYF to create a continuum of care that is trauma informed, child focussed and responsive to client needs.
The Practice Leaders are also responsible for staff induction and a broad range of staff development opportunities as well as making coaching and mentoring and recommendations to others in relation to policy, procedures and best practice. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline. Please note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are eligible to apply.At least five years of practical experience working with children, youth and/or families in a social work/case management role, and/or experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities.Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
