ABOUT PERTH OFFICE South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE This permanent position will be held in our Perth offices. We understand and value the benefits of flexibility and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home). We still encourage your application if full-time hours don't align with your preferences. We're open to exploring flexible arrangements with qualified candidates.
As Practice Lead of Project Assurance, you'll provide independent oversight of South32's significant investment projects, ensuring they meet quality standards while balancing practical business needs. Working alongside investment committees and project teams, this role evaluates project deliverables, leads independent reviews, and identifies opportunities for innovation and improved efficiency. It bridges technical expertise with strategic thinking, helping teams navigate complex projects while contributing to the continuous improvement of South32's project management framework, incorporating lessons learned to enhance future project delivery.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Governance, other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Support our investment success by bringing your strategic mindset to greenfield and brownfield projects. You'll help study teams craft project strategies that create value, working across our global business to ensure we're making smart, safe investment decisions that align with business goals.Connect and collaborate with diverse project teams locally and globally. You'll develop key partnerships across the organisation, from study teams to corporate development, bringing people together to understand and drive our investments forward through effective project management.Be the trusted voice for project governance, ensuring our projects reflect stakeholder needs from sponsors to sustainability teams. Through thoughtful reviews and assessments, you'll work with various functions to create alignment and drive project success.Collaborate with partners to evolve our project delivery approach, shaping technical standards while prioritising safety and efficiency. Work alongside subject matter experts to continuously improve our project framework and create better outcomes.ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Share your deep understanding of project frameworks and performance metrics, using your experience of IPRs to guide teams toward successful outcomes.Draw from your 15+ years of experience to shape project journeys from concept to completion, bringing valuable insights from mining and processing technologies.Use your leadership experience to inspire and guide teams, champion diversity, and create an environment where different perspectives thrive.Apply your expertise in mining and processing technologies to evaluate and enhance project delivery, ensuring innovative and practical solutions.Lead independent project reviews and assurance activities, using your experience to provide valuable insights that keep projects on track.Drive continuous improvement through your experience in project teams, bringing fresh perspectives to how we develop and deliver projects.Qualifications for this position are:
Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
