With a view to further developing an engaged, innovative, and sustainable business, we are now seeking an experienced General Manager, Energy & Digital Management to join the Operations & Services Delivery leadership team.
This role will lead the strategy and delivery of our operational technology, telecommunications, and digital network services, enabling the business to be the best it can be.

The opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this pivotal role will lead the strategy and delivery of our operational technology, telecommunications, and digital network services, ensuring high resilience and compliance with regulatory standards.

You will lead a diverse team that supports a wide range of technical personnel, ensuring the effectiveness of head-end cybersecurity measures.
Your role will be crucial in maintaining high resilience and availability of operational networks, in strict compliance with the technical requirements set by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) and the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act.

You will provide leadership and management of the group, ensuring it fulfills its contribution to organisational priorities and delivers on its service obligations to customers and stakeholders in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Powerlink is undergoing a digital transformation through the Next Generation Network Operations Portfolio.
In this role, you will provide leadership and governance oversight ensuring resource support and availability for key initiatives.
Additionally, you will serve as the Program Sponsor for several critical projects, ensuring these initiatives deliver business benefits efficiently and prudently.

Naturally, you will actively participate as a member of the Operations and Service Delivery leadership team, supporting the COO in achieving the division's direction through the delivery of strategic and operational priorities.

What you'll bring
Degree level qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electrical Engineering, or a lesser qualification coupled with significant applied experience in this field.
You will have a proven ability to balance commercial and technical outcomes to achieve fit-for-purpose solutions.
With a track record of staying current with technological changes, you will excel in leading highly technical and complex discussions with experienced personnel.
You will possess the ability to manage network events and make timely decisions in complex environments.
Experience in leading a team of highly proficient professionals is essential.

With strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, and negotiation abilities, you are known for your collaborative style and your ability to liaise and influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation.
You will demonstrate leader-level expertise in your field, with proven experience in delivering strategic management and leadership across company functions.
