Always putting our clients' needs first, we've helped evaluate and implement new and emerging technologies to help develop the grid of the future and power a more sustainable world.Role Summary:PSC is seeking an enthusiastic, technically oriented engineer with relevant power systems studies experience to join our Sydney and Brisbane based team.
The candidate's primary expertise should be in power systems analysis and studies that model the behaviour of power systems and their various components under steady state and perturbed conditions.Essential Responsibilities:The power systems consultant will conduct a variety of assignments under the supervision of Senior or Principal Engineers.
These include:Power system analysis and generator connection feasibility studiesPreparation of detailed technical reportsGlobal interaction with PSC colleagues to coordinate and execute studiesManage client expectations through regular communications and responsivenessMinimum Requirements:Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a preference for a specialisation in power systemsKnowledge in power systems analysis in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems using network simulation software, particularly PSSE, PSCAD and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactorKnowledge in several of the following areas is desired:Classical power system analysis & modelling including load flow, transient stability, short circuit analysis, and small signal assessmentsPower generation and transmission studies such as generator connections, voltage stability, feasibility studies, power station and control system design, and network planningSteady state and transient model development, testing, and field validation of the performance of generator control modelsPreparation of long-term, multi-scenario network development plansKnowledge of grid connection policies, particularly Australian National Electricity Rules (NER)Python programmingExcellent written and verbal communication skills – in particular, clear and unambiguous email and technical document writingWe:Know that our people are our greatest asset, and we truly celebrate and value peopleAlso celebrate bright ideas, individuality, and autonomyHave an entrepreneurial spirit, embrace new ideas and are always looking to improveUnderstand that everyone has a personal life and provide an extremely flexible work environmentProvide amazing growth and leadership opportunities in an autonomous roleOffer competitive compensation, great benefits, and development opportunitiesWe're an equal opportunity employer.
