We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Power Chemical Engineer to join us in our Engineering and Planning team in Brisbane or Mount Isa on a Permanent Full Time Basis.
Reporting to the Power Operations Engineering Manager – East you will play a key role in providing technical Power specific Chemical Engineering services to the Power Systems Engineering Team, with a predominate focus on the North West Power System (NWPS) in Mount Isa.
Key Responsibilities Support for and management of risk within combined cycle, water and cooling water chemistry on predominately CCGT plant.
Ensure correct chemistry strategies and adjustments such that design operating envelope is upheld.
Ensure correct maintenance activities that support safe and reliable chemistry management.
Monitor asset lifecycle by implementing continuous chemistry surveillance techniques that ensure safe operation of the asset that safeguards the asset design life.
Your background Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or Science.
5+ years' experience in the operation and maintenance of combined cycle power station or equivalent chemical process.
E.g.
cycle chemistry, wet rack monitoring, and water treatment.
Leverage technology to develop and automate the detection of chemistry excursions proactively.
Experience in risk-assessed and data driven decision-making.
