About the Company Our client is a federal government agency responsible for one of the nation's largest, most complex and scrutinized peacetime logistical events. This opportunity is available within ACT and QLD.
About the Role The Power BI Report Developer will be primarily focused on improvements to existing Power BI reports as well as development of new reports utilizing both Power BI Reporting Services (on-prem) and Cloud Services platforms.
Report developers will also be expected to have an understanding of the report development life cycle, articulating data visualization techniques with report-owners and be able to work with limited supervision.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Creation and support for dashboards and reportsPerforming certain data analysis as necessaryData/dimensional modellingResearch and investigation of contemporary report development and the adoption as needed in the development of Power BI reportsProvide root cause analysis of issues from data source to report/data provisionSkills and Experience Required: Minimum 5 years' experience in Power BI report development with Reporting Services and Cloud Services versionsWorking knowledge and understanding of MS SQL Server (including Analysis Server) database management and queryingExperience in gathering business requirements and developing dashboards and reports in Power BIExperience in developing SSIS packages to orchestrate and transform data movementsExperience in database and data warehouse construction using the Microsoft suite of development tools for on-prem and cloud, for example SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Azure Data Factory, etc.Sound experience and working knowledge of the following: DAX coding, Power Query, Visual Studio, Data Visualization, Data modelling within Power BI, Dimensional modelling, Report development documentationBenefits: Competitive daily rateCanberra and Brisbane locations, close to public transportOpportunity to work with a leading Federal Government AgencyHow to apply:
