Job Description Our client is an industry-leading poultry processing facility with sophisticated operations located in Sassafras, Tasmania. They are currently looking for 20 Poultry Processors to join their facility, starting on or around 15th April 2024.You will be paid under the Poultry Processing Award - level 1 above award rate at $29.75 per hour, and a seasonal contract an average minimum of 38 hours per week for a duration up to 9 months.The RoleYou are required to work in poultry facility where the smell of livestock is present. Not afraid of getting your hands dirty, you will be comfortable working with live and deceased birds; all animals must be handled gently and compassionately. You will be a team player who is physically fit and more than able to handle heavy lifting.Key ResponsibilitiesRehanging birdsManual Evisceration and/or checking on automated eviscerationGrading and packing whole birds or portions into packaging such as bags, bulk bags or tray packsCreating value added productsManual handling of productLimited paperworkEnsure that the work performed meets quality standardsEncourage positive actions and behaviours within your departmentMeet benchmarks for tasks undertaken.Contribute to a solutions focussed, positive culture within your departmentEnsure you are complying with company standard operating procedures, policies and induction information.Notifying Supervisor if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe performing work as requested.Participate in the investigation of incidents occurring in your department where required.Key Skills & ExperienceTo be considered for the roles, it's important you meet the following criteria:Good communication skillsCommitment to enhance skills in QAMust be compliant with safety standards in all aspects of workBe able to approach challenging situations with a positive attitude to find solutionsGood knowledge and understanding of Health & SafetyNo asthma or dust allergiesPhysically fit and comfortable in carrying out labour intensive dutiesA team player and happy working with a multicultural teamOn-site job training is provided with opportunities for upskilling.
