The Sydney Conservatorium of Music is looking for expressions of interest from current and soon-to-commence HDR students who would like to be available as a Postgraduate Fellow to receive teaching work (such as tutoring, teaching, marking) in 2025.Successful candidates will be appointed as Postgraduate Fellows. These roles for the SCM will be 90% teaching, 10% Governance, Leadership and Engagement (Service).
Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct and prepare for tutorials and other learning activities during semestersconduct markingrespond to student enquiriesundertake administrative functionsparticipate in University events and outreach activities, such as Open Daysundertake online and/or in-person training modules or contribute to tutorial rewrites/updates.About you You must be a current or incoming HDR student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of SydneyCurrent students must have received an Outstanding or Satisfactory rating on their most recent PEM to be considered. (This does not apply to commencing students)Students who are in periods of extension in their degree will not be eligible for appointment into one of these roles.Students who complete their HDR degree (by submitting their thesis) will be eligible to continue until the end of the year in which their thesis was submitted. After this point, the appointment will cease, and there is no commitment by the University of Sydney to continue this or any other appointment in any form.Please note that the success of any candidate for these roles depends on many factors beyond the applicant's abilities, including the availability of other ongoing staff, student enrolment numbers, and timetable concerns. Meeting the criteria for becoming a Postgraduate Fellow does not imply that such an applicant will be appointed.
