The postdoctoral scientist will report to the Research Group Head and maintain close working relationships with the cancer research team.
SELECTION CRITERIA The role will suit someone who is: Ethical and compliance-oriented thinkerHighly collaborative and team-orientedExperienced in cellular and animal modelsInterested in contributing to childhood cancer researchPostdoctoral qualification or other relevant research qualification in health and medical disciplines.2 years postdoctoral research experience in health and medical disciplines.Experience with mammalian tissue culture, molecular biology techniques.Experience with live mouse modelsFamiliarity in bioinformaticsYour responsibilities include: Working with Patient-derived cell lines, mouse xenograft, GEMM modelsFunctional and molecular analysis of childhood cancer (e.g. Western, FACS, CRISPR)Data analysis alongside bioinformaticians (e.g. RNA-seq, WGS, DepMap)Develop hypotheses and conduct experiments to test/validate research findingsWill contribute significant intellectual input into the technical aspects of research directionEMPLOYMENT TERMS This position is a fixed term contract role in a full-time (1.0 FTE) capacity. Salary is based on RES A, dependent on level of experience. Superannuation of 11.5% and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
