YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE   Postdoctoral Researcher - Cheng Laboratory 24-month Fixed Term, Full Time Position 1RA6 - 1RA10 The successful applicant will be part of a small team to work on organ cross talk/ metabolism, or developmental neurobiology related projects in Drosophila.
This position is responsible for: Conducting experiments with a careful and precisce technique.
Accurately analysing and interpreting experimental results.
Participate in and present research results in lab meetings and hubs.
Developing good working relationships with others both within the laboratory and within the Research division.
This position is:  Fixed-Term, Full-Time Onsite presence essential at 305 Grattan Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000  Basic Salary Range: $97,770.40 to $113,262.24 AUD Advertising from Tuesday, 17th December, 2024 to Tuesday, 14th January, 2025 Skills required include a PhD (either approved or submitted and under review), with a broad base of molecular, genetic and cell biology techniques.
The person will need to supervise students and technical staff in the lab.
The person should have a strong background in cell/ molecular/developmental biology and /or metabolism.

Key Relationships Internal: Louise Cheng and members of the Cheng Lab External: Staff and students fron other research institutes Education Skills Essential Requirements: •    PhD in genetics, cell biology, developmental biology, molecular biology •    Experience in cell and molecular biological techniques •    Strong  knowledge   and  research   experience  in cell/developmental biology/metabolism/physiology.
•    Demonstrated  statistical  analysis  and manuscript  preparation  skills;  including  a solid track record  of research publications; •    High level organisational skills, with demonstrated capacity to establish and achieve goals •    Excellent oral and written communication skills; •    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team •    Highly motivated and self-driven.
•    Flexibilligy and ability to develop new skills Desirable Requirements: •    Drosophila research experience Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Key Accountabilities 1.
Conduct experiments: •    Careful and precise experimental technique.

•    Well developed organizational skills and planning of experiments •    Ability to readily learn new techniques •    To assist as directed in research experiments with other research personnel •    High level of integrity and ethics.
