YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE 12-month Fixed-Term, Full-Time80 hours per fortnight with ADO'sExciting opening for a post-doctoral researcher to work on bioinformatics analysis and methods development in the context of tumour immunology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects in the field of immuno-oncology with collaborators within and outside of the Peter Mac.
Minimum Requirements:PhD in relevant quantitative scientific field such as bioinformatics, physics, statistics, computer science or mathematicsAn excellent academic recordAdvanced programming skills in a scripting programming language such as R or PythonAdvanced data analysis, data science or statistical skills in a scientific contextAbility to design analyses based on scientific questionsStrong desire to combine different platforms and bioinformatics techniques to address questions in cancerAbility to develop novel algorithms or statistical analysis approachesAn interest in performing cutting edge research using the latest technologiesExhibit a high degree of professionalism and respect for othersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with transcriptomics, single-cell data or spatial analysisProficiency/experience with specific single cell analysis packages (Seurat/Scanpy)Experience with Linux OSPublications as lead author or co-authorPrevious experience in working in the field of immunologyDemonstrated skill in statistical analysisExperience collaborating with biologistsThis position is an opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop skills and knowledge in the computational biology field specifically related to immunology. The candidate will design and apply analytical approaches to data from emerging high-throughput sequencing single cell sequencing to investigate the role of the immune system in cancer.
