Based at our vibrant and picturesque St Lucia Campus
About UQ
As part of the UQ community, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world, and within an environment where interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged.
At the core of our teaching remains our students, and their experience with us sets a foundation for success far beyond graduation. UQ has made a
commitment
to making education opportunities available for all Queenslanders, regardless of personal, financial, or geographical barriers.
As part of our commitment to excellence in research and professional practice in academic contexts, we are proud to provide our staff with access to world-class facilities and equipment, grant writing support, greater research funding opportunities, and other forms of staff support and development.
About This Opportunity
The National Imaging Facility (NIF) is an Australia wide collaborative network of world-class imaging infrastructure, providing open access to flagship imaging equipment, expertise, tools, data and analysis. NIF addresses Australia's strategic science and research priorities, and this benefits Australian industry and helps keep Australians healthy.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fellow with experience in neuroimaging analysis and handling of large datasets, ideally with expertise in ultra-high field (7T) imaging. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and participate in research programs at the Queensland node of NIF, located at the Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and the Herston Imaging Research Facility (HIRF).
The opportunity is open to an experienced Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A), Research Fellow (Level B) or a Senior Research Fellow (Level C). You will be expected to provide project planning and image analysis expertise on a collaborative and consultative basis to both local and external users of the NIF facilities. Additionally, the role involves facilitating access to UQ and national computational facilities for NIF users, as well as promoting NIF activities to the international, national, and institutional scientific communities.
This position offers you the opportunity to develop an independent research profile in the area of MRI and will be integral to imaging project planning and data analysis research activities at the UQ node. The role reports to the Co-Director of the NIF Queensland Node, Lena Oestreich. This role provides an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise and establish an emerging research profile within the discipline of neuroimaging.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research (All Levels)
Teaching (Level B, C only)
Supervision and Researcher Development (All Levels)
Citizenship and Service (All Levels)
This is a research focused position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ's Criteria for Academic Performance .

As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
The greater benefits
of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a Group of Eight
university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.
