We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow (at Academic Level A) and an experienced Research Fellow (at Academic Level B) to conduct high quality research on the School's GROWTH project.This project, Groups and Relationships to Optimise Wellbeing and HealTH, is a public health solution for the prevention and management of loneliness.
GROWTH targets the prevention and management of loneliness, which is among our most pressing public health issues.The GROWTH program will pioneer a new integrated, sustainable community-focused approach that leverages UQ's intervention program, GROUPS 4 HEALTH, in ways that help people to optimise their access and use of existing community resources.
Working with academic and community partners who work with young people and older adults, GROWTH aims to empower people to manage loneliness when it presents, but also to prevent its occurrence.Ideal candidates will possess expertise in social, clinical and/or applied psychology.These are full-time, fixed-term, research focused positions commencing 1 January 2025.The Postdoctoral Research Fellow position will be offered on full-time basis for 18 months at Academic Level A.The Research Fellow position will be offered on a full-time basis for 3 years at Academic Level B.As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A), you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise and emerging research profile in your discipline and contribute to various service and engagement roles and activities within the Centre.
As a research focused academic at Level A, you will be supported and guided by more senior academic research staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time.As a Research Fellow (Level B), you will engage in research to further your expertise and growing research profile to achieve national recognition in your discipline.
As a research focused academic at Level B, you will be responsible for efficiently managing service and engagement roles and activities and fulfilling the necessary requirements to contribute to the effective supervision of Honour and Higher Degree by Research students.Please note, you must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of these appointments to apply.
