The Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation (TCMHSI) is part of the College of Health and Medicine and is a new initiative created in partnership with the Department of Health and University of Tasmania. The TCMHSI aims to create and nurture opportunities for service improvements in mental health services.
This position will focus on Youth Mental Health Access, working on planned and innovative changes to the mental health system in collaboration with the Mental Health Council of Tasmania. The project has two main deliverables: a mixed-methods investigation on the views of children and their families regarding the Intake and Assessment Referral decision-making tool, and the design of an implementation framework for the Youth Peer Workforce Strategy. This position may be full-time or fractional.
What you'll do: Make an effective and sustained contribution to the TCMHSI in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing, help secure external funding, publish research findings, and contribute to the successful supervision of research higher degree students.Leverage existing data sources and analyze available databases to identify key factors that can contribute to establishing effective strategies for youth mental health.Develop and maintain productive links within the University and with local and national communities in relevant interdisciplinary domains.What we're looking for: Completion of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant research field with demonstrated academic merit appropriate to Level A.A good record of, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national recognition in mental health research, demonstrated by quality publications and conference presentations.A record of contributing to effective links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, and wider community.Demonstrated ability to assist with the preparation of ethics applications and grant reports.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with a range of people and organizations.Sound organizational skills with a demonstrated capacity to act with initiative, both independently and collaboratively.Demonstrated mentoring and supervisory skills and the ability to contribute to the supervision of staff and students.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level A with a total remuneration package of up to $121,737, comprising base salary within the range of $80,462 to $104,049 plus 17% superannuation.
