Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Full time, fixed term (3-years) position at our Hawthorn campus  Academic Level B salary and benefits with flexible working options About the Role  A Postdoctoral Research Fellow is being sought to join a project funded by the Australian Research Council.
Working alongside Professor Anthony McCosker at the Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society (ADM+S) you will be contributing primarily to 2 projects: -    Critical Capabilities for Inclusive AI -    Generative Authenticity This position will be looking at Generative artificial intelligence which is a rapidly evolving field that focuses on developing techniques and models capable of generating new data, images, text, or other forms of content and enabling human-like machine interactions.
As the demand for AI-driven solutions continues to grow, understanding and advancing the ethical and inclusive use of generative AI technologies and related technologies has become increasingly important.
Contributing directly to the development of an AI Capabilities Lab, you will take a lead on research activities and contribute to the development and implementation of projects aimed at harnessing the power of generative AI and ensuring its ethical and inclusive deployment.
This includes investigating novel algorithms and techniques, designing experiments, and evaluating the use of AI in domain contexts and the performance of generative models.
Also relevant to the role is an interest in the impact of generative AI on authenticity in relation to trustworthy online information and cybersecurity.

About You   To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:  Demonstrated expertise in generative AI, including experience in developing and evaluating NLP, ML, AI algorithms and models.
A record of high-quality research publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings in AI, NLP, and ML commensurate with opportunity.
Excellent knowledge and skills in system design methods and techniques as well as the ability to develop complete software solutions.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team-environment, and to follow through on tasks to completion and on time with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
Qualifications A PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP, or a related field), with a track record of research achievements.
