Full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years
Base salary will be in the range of $78,871.35- $105,004.02 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A)

About This Opportunity Join our research team, actively engaged in pioneering research in dynamical systems, ergodic theory, and their applications. In this role, it is expected that you will contribute towards collaborative and self-directed research on an ARC funded Project within the School of Mathematics and Physics.
Key responsibilities will include: Research: Develop an independent or team research program in dynamical systems, collaborate with colleagues on joint research projects and funding applications, produce high-quality research outputs, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, and utilize best practice research methodologies.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the development of research programs for students and collaborate with colleagues on student supervision, as appropriate.
Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate leadership through mentoring, collaboration, and active participation in group activities, work effectively with colleagues to build strong relationships and partnerships, effectively engage in internal and external service roles, and uphold university values.

About You PhD in Mathematics (or closely related discipline), preferably in Ergodic Theory or Dynamical Systems.
Proven, or demonstrated excellent potential for, an outstanding publication record.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated capacity to deliver high quality project outcomes in a timely manner.
Computer programming experience, preferably including mathematical software (e.g. Matlab).
Understanding of equity and diversity principles. Knowledge of OHS responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OH training.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.
