Level A, $75,888-$102,040 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.Level B, $107,276 - $126,894 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.Two (2) full time, fixed term positions for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.The key to achieving major progress in supply chain innovation is to develop and implement a fully circular economy with supply chains that serve the sustainable and equitable ways we need to produce, procure, and consume in the 21st Century. The University of Adelaide is committed to helping accelerate the transformation of Australia's supply chains and our Centre for Sustainable Operations and Resilient Supply Chains (CSORSC) will provide research excellence that industry and government stakeholders can rely on to inform investment into the smart, sustainable and circular supply chains that an advanced economy needs.Professor Kannan Govindan and Associate Professor Devika Kannan lead this new centre. Prof Govindan explores the use of industry 4.0 technologies (blockchain, big data, AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation) to better measure and manage supply chains. A/Prof Kannan researches supply chains and procurement, with a focus on measuring and reporting on Scope 3 emissions. She also studies how to foster entrepreneurship pathways for women in a greening economy.A successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can investigate areas of relevance to the research of the CSORSC leadership and the needs of key industry partners. They will produce data collection and modelling studies, high quality peer-reviewed publications, technical reports and documentation, and workshop delivery. The role will also involve the co-supervision of higher degree research students. Above all, the role will build the profile of CSORSC as a centre of supply chain excellence and will advance their own career by submitting applications for fellowships and other funded opportunities.To be successful you will need: A completed or nearly completed PhD (conferred no later than two years ago) in systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on operations and supply chain management; or a completed Master's degree in operations research, applied mathematics, data science, computer science engineering, artificial intelligence, or information technology, coupled with a strong interest in operations and supply chain management.A growing track record of research and publishing in highly ranked journals in operations, manufacturing, business, or supply chains research (FT50, ideally also ABDC: A* potential).A demonstrated background in the use of modelling, qualitative and quantitative methods.Excellent organisational and project management skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with supervisorsA strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and as a member of a broader team, including with industrial partners, in a technical environment for effective delivery of team outcomes.A commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. Desirable: Experience in supervising graduate or undergraduate students.A demonstrated aptitude to engage collaboratively with industry partners and other external stakeholders.Knowledge of optimisation solvers and proficiency in machine learning algorithms and their practical implementation in Python. In addition, to be appointed at Level B you will need: A completed PhD (preferably conferred no later than three years ago) in a relevant discipline.A demonstrated aptitude to engage collaboratively with industry partners and other external stakeholders.Displayed evidence in writing and securing externally funded research grants (e.g. Category 1, ARC, or Category 3, Industry, or similar international schemes if an international candidate).
