The University of New England (UNE) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioacoustics to join the School of Environmental and Rural Science. This full-time position, with potential for part-time consideration, is fixed-term until 13 March 2026. The successful candidate will work on developing automated acoustic recognisers to detect avian vocalisations using Python and C++. Designation:

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will: Develop and fine-tune Python and C++ code for detecting specific avian vocalisations Work within a team to collect, annotate, and develop recogniser data Take primary responsibility for developing and refining acoustic recognisers Utilise established methods and collaborate within a multi-institutional and multidisciplinary team Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
