The Position This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team providing research expertise, student supervision, and training to the newly funded ARC Training Centre in Plant Biosecurity (the Centre), based in the ANU Biological Data Science Institute.
This role will undertake independent research on quantitative methods in biosecurity.
The role includes collaborating with researchers and policy makers in the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and will contribute to reports and research for the department.
The role will also contribute to Centre activities such as supporting PhD student supervision, delivering training, and mentorship.
The Person We are looking for a person with experience in quantitative biosecurity or an adjacent area, including but not limited to ecology, biometry or statistics.
We are looking for someone who likes challenging problems and encourages team members and colleagues to workshop effective solutions.
You must be willing to travel and collaborate with the partners in the Centre, especially the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
You must be an Australian citizen, and eligible and willing to apply for a baseline security clearance.
