This exciting, research-only academic role will contribute towards the university's research expertise in evidence implementation within the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare.
The position is funded by an MRFF funded clinical trial activity grant entitled Evidence-based Antimicrobial Stewardship: Sustainable Implementation in Primary Care: EASSI-PC.
This project is an implementation study that aims to increase the uptake of antimicrobial stewardship strategies in primary care and will be evaluated in a randomised controlled trial.
This position does not involve any benchtop laboratory research.
Additional responsibilities include:
Provide support for other IEBH research, including doctoral students, focusing on the population and clinician level, using qualitative studies, surveys, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and behavioural science strategies. Provide support for mentoring and training of junior staff / higher degree students and assist with training in evidence synthesis and research methods, for example via workshops, or helping with relevant Masters subjects. About the person
The ideal candidate will demonstrate established skills in research and publication, and an ability to manage and lead research projects, and help in mentoring and developing junior research staff and students.
They will have well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines.
In addition, candidates will demonstrate:
A doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a closely related field Ability to solve complex problems by using discretion and innovation and the ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise Demonstrated experience with qualitative studies, surveys, systematic reviews and meta-analysis Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines A developing publication record in journals with high impact. The salary for the position commences at $104,398.58 plus 11.5% superannuation per annum. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
