The Nutrition and Health Innovation Research Institute at Edith Cowan University is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to help drive our injury prevention research in tactical populations.
Specifically, this full-time post-doctoral research fellow role will manage the "Co-designing a program to prevent injuries and improve performance in Australian Police Force recruits" project, funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, Western Australian Department of Health, and Western Australia Police Force.
The Police Force is essential to society, yet one-in-twenty recruits drop out due to injury.
This drop-out rate has substantial economic and workforce ramifications.
We have demonstrated that one-in-five recruits suffer an injury causing time-loss from work.
This project, spanning 5-years from January 2025, will involve the (i) injury prevention program development (ii) program implementation and (iii) program implementation evaluation.
The primary role of the project manager will include project oversight, including but not limited to human research ethics applications, risk management procedures, managing industry collaboration, managing consumer and stakeholder engagement, data collection, data management and manuscript preparation.
The project manager will be supported by an experienced research team, with a focus on mentoring and developing the research fellow.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
