Management - Vocational (Education & Training) Full time Dean & Ling Executive have been engaged by BuildSkills Australia (BuildSkills) - a leading authority in Vocational Education & Training (VET), focused on aligning qualifications with evolving industry needs. They are committed to working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive impactful change and advance the effectiveness of the national training system. Due to ongoing success and growth, they are now looking to expand the team with the appointment of a new Portfolio Manager.
As the VET Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of projects that align VET qualifications with industry demands. Your responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders, interpreting diverse viewpoints, and managing all phases of training product development. You'll oversee the strategic planning and delivery of long-term projects (6-18 months), ensuring they meet key performance indicators through comprehensive management and evaluation.
Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with internal and external teams, including the National Industry Engagement Team and Technical CommitteesOrganizing and facilitating industry engagement activities and eventsLeading project committees, providing secretarial support and policy guidanceHandling stakeholder queries efficientlyManaging the portfolio from inception to delivery, including monitoring outcomes and performanceRepresenting BuildSkills at conferences and workshopsYou have a proven background in the VET sector, with expertise in managing a complex portfolio of long-term projects. Your ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, combined with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, ensures success in this role. Key qualifications and experience include:
A Bachelor's or Diploma in VET, project management, or business (preferred)Minimum 6 years' VET experienceProven track record of leading and managing a project portfolioDeep understanding of the Australian VET system and training package requirementsStrong relationship-building, data analysis, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and adaptability, with the ability to travel nationallyIn return for your efforts, you will receive a generous salary package and tax benefits due to their NFP status.
