As we continue to grow, we are creating a centralized hub for commercial excellence across our portfolio, combining revenue, reservations, sales, and marketing teams.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Portfolio Business Development Director (BDD) to lead our efforts in maximizing revenue, driving strategic growth, and building key relationships for our Melbourne-based hotels.
Position Overview
The Portfolio Business Development Director plays a crucial role in overseeing the commercial performance and revenue growth of multiple properties within the PIH portfolio.
The BDD will be responsible for leading the government segment strategy, developing and executing strategic sales plans, nurturing relationships with key clients, and working closely with the leadership team to ensure alignment with business objectives.
This is a leadership role requiring strategic planning, strong relationship management, and a passion for achieving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, room night goals, and market share growth.Conduct market analysis, identify trends, and monitor competitor practices to shape sales tactics and drive revenue.Lead the development of long-term business planning, including the annual sales and marketing plan, and monitor the performance of sales initiatives.Manage sales budgets, track financial performance, and optimize resources for maximum returns.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including government agencies, meeting planners, and corporate accounts.Work with Revenue Management to implement pricing strategies and yield management principles to meet revenue targets.Represent PIH at industry events and trade shows to increase visibility and create business opportunities.Lead and mentor a team, fostering a high-performing sales culture that focuses on achieving goals and supporting professional development.Collaborate with brand global sales teams and other departments to maximize synergies across PIH properties.Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Hospitality Management.Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar business development or sales leadership role within the hotel industry.Strong knowledge of hotel systems and revenue management principles.Proven track record of success in new business development, key account management, and achieving revenue targets.Ability to think strategically, manage relationships, and drive results in a competitive market.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a talent for influencing and persuading.Ability to manage and mentor teams, providing feedback and fostering growth.Australian residency or valid working rights.This role is Melbourne based.Why Join Us?
