Porta is seeking a Product Manager to join an energized product and consumer-focused marketing team. You will bring expertise in managing product lifecycles, developing and executing product strategies, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Your role will involve overseeing range reviews, pricing strategies, and product roadmaps while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. Your new position, reporting to the Head of Marketing, will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of our manufactured and sourced product ranges, including the design and development optimisation, evaluation and ongoing technical feasibility of our products.
Key Objectives:
Develop and manage a pipeline portfolio of Innovation for Porta. Own the creation, ongoing refinement, prioritisation, and ultimate successful execution of manufactured and new product roadmap. Manage existing products within the residential and commercial portfolios to ensure profitability and strategic product life cycles (includes sales, margins, volume and stock levels review). Create every aspect of new innovative products from conception, delivery to distribution centres and supporting customers. Develop a deep understanding of our customers, putting their needs at the centre of all product design and development. Manage the quality & technical specifications of manufactured and new product portfolios. Develop a deep understanding of competitors including positioning, product performance and pricing. Develop and maintain the company database, ERP and Product for product specifications. Represent the company at trade shows. Manage price increase process and price lists for manufactured products. Develop a compelling and relevant product vision using trend research, customer loyalty/insights, customer feedback/research and internal operational metrics. Build a culture of new product delivery speed and excellence, crafting innovative solutions to solve significant customer problems and getting them into market quickly and efficiently. Set criteria to increase the speed/frequency with which enhancements and new capabilities are delivered. Lead product roll out efforts in collaboration with marketing and production teams to launch to market. Identify, develop and manage contractual relationships with strategic partners and suppliers both domestic and abroad. Stock level establishment and coordination in preliminary trial phases. Responsible for preparation of documentation and input to technical specifications, installation manuals and information for sales and marketing. Responsible for the development of production tooling, jigs, fixtures and assembly processes in liaison with production team. Highly skilled in budget and project management. What you will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in product development (preferably manufacturing/timber/building products). Customer insights leading to product development innovation experience. SolidWorks/CAD and/or Drawing proficiency beneficial. Design for Manufacture and Assembly skills and experience is beneficial. Hands-on Building/interiors industry skills is preferred but not essential. Mechanical engineering skills and experience. Experience working with internal and external design and engineering teams. Experience in testing and verification procedures and methods. Communication skills to uncover and work through complexity.
