Your opportunity The Operations Improvement Officer within Marine Operations Sydney is responsible for driving operational efficiency and process optimisation across marine operations Sydney and Botany. This role supports the development and implementation of practical solutions to improve workflows, enhance compliance with maritime regulations, and ensure operational excellence in a 24/7 operational business environment.
The role is a permanent full-time position based in Sydney reporting to the General Manager, Operations – Sydney.

Identify and implement practical improvements to operational workflows and systems, ensuring they align with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with operational teams to refine and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs), improving efficiency and effectiveness in delivering maritime services. Analyse existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or risks. Develop actionable plans to address these issues and streamline operations. Ensure operational improvements meet all regulatory and compliance obligations, including safety and environmental standards, while reducing risks and enhancing performance. Support operational teams in adopting new processes by delivering tailored training, fostering engagement, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Proven ability to drive change within operational teams, fostering collaboration and engagement to embed new practices effectively. What you'll bring Qualifications in Operations Management, Process Improvement, or a relevant discipline. Demonstrated experience in optimising workflows, improving processes, and driving efficiencies in operational environments. Comprehensive understanding of maritime laws, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements. Practical experience with process improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma. Ability to communicate operational requirements effectively and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience delivering improvements in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where operational continuity is critical. What matters most is that you're a strong team player with a deep sense of curiosity, who doesn't shy away from a challenge. You'll also feel aligned with our values and reflect them in the incredible work you produce. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
