Join Our Team as a Pool Lifeguard & Children's Programs Officer this Summer! Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact this summer? We are currently seeking multiple Pool Lifeguards with an interest in working with Children to join our dynamic team during our busiest and most exciting season yet on a seasonal summer contract! This is your chance to be part of the biggest summer we've had in years, filled with energetic events and activities for families and kids of all ages and abilities.
In this unique role, you'll be working across two key areas:
Pool Lifeguarding: As a lifeguard, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons by maintaining a high standard of supervision in and around our aquatic facilities. You'll play a vital role in preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and taking proactive steps to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at the pool. Children's Programs Officer: In addition to lifeguarding, you'll be part of our Children's Programs team, where you'll help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for young participants. You'll assist in operating our inflatable attractions and contribute to an exciting range of activities designed to ensure kids have an unforgettable time. What is a seasonal contract? Seasonal contracts are fixed term employment agreements for a specific period. We are hiring casual officers for 3 months of employment throughout summer with the potential to seek ongoing casual and/or permanent part-time employment with either the lifeguard or programs team based on performance and business needs.
Key responsibilities will include: Provide supervision of patrons in an aquatic environment, ensuring that terms and conditions of entry are being met by all users. Carry out intervention and preventive actions, rescues and initiate emergency action as required, responding to, and applying first aid to any person in the venue. Completing non-supervisory tasks as required including operating aquatic equipment, cleaning tasks and event/booking set up. Manage conflict and escalate customer complaints when necessary. Demonstrate a duty of care approach towards ensuring the safety and well-being of all users of SSCT facilities. Maintain OH&S standards and report on and respond to non-compliance. Interact and communicate with the children, parents, guardians, and teachers in a positive and enthusiastic manner. Ensure SSCT program aligns with vision, values, and purpose for positive child and guardian experiences across business units. Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for children's activities to maintain safety and compliance. Supervise activities, ensuring duty of care for all children. Promote inclusive participation and provide alternate activities where possible. Implement health and safety measures during sessions, including warm-ups, drills, games, and cool-downs.
