Why Your Role Matters
As our Associate Lecturer in Computer Science, you will contribute to teaching computer science courses in the School of Systems and Computing whilst also maintaining and developing your scholarly research and professional activities.
The role of Associate Lecturer in Computer Science reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
In this joint research and teaching role, you will work alongside global experts in the computer science field such as Professor Roland Goecke and Professor Hussein Abbass.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline and evidence of proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development in teaching practice.
Demonstrated experience in computer science and passion for teaching programming concepts, algorithms, data structures and representations.
Knowledge of educational technologies and learning design, course development and/or delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Experience engaging and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research independently or as a team member in collaborative research, with a commensurate track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
Demonstrated experience in human computer/machine/robot interaction and/or robotic and autonomous systems (highly desirable).
