With 20 years of experience in advocacy, we have supported the passage of numerous bills that have benefited nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Internship Overview
The Political Affairs Internship is a part-time, 12-hour per week, 12-week unpaid remote internship. This role focuses on making poverty a priority in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead public and political outreach in your state and district
Meet with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency
Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events
Assist with fundraising and create a personal fundraising campaign
Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation
Speak to groups, classes, and organizations
Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups
Requirements
No prior experience is necessary. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of their background.
Program Details
This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available. New programs begin every month, and you choose the month you wish to start.
