The Policy Officer will work in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver an ambitious set of reforms which will strengthen biodiversity protection in Victoria and support key industries for the future. The Policy Officer will work with Team Leaders to develop new policy guidance to enable an improved strategic planning approach to the critical areas of renewable energy and resource extraction in Victoria. The Policy Officer will be required to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders across the Planning and Energy portfolios as well as with DEECA Regions. In addition, the Policy Officer will be required to support engagement with a range of external stakeholders such as the renewable and extractive industries. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the protection of Victoria's unique biodiversity and contributing to Victoria's long-term energy and economic future.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline such as planning, natural resource management, economic, public policy or political science is desirable.Experience in environmental policy or regulation, or strategic planning at either the state or Federal level is desirableThis is a fixed term position available for a period of 18 Months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
