Its purpose is to provide evidence-based advice and regulation to support sustainable use of the Northern Territory's natural resources, and protect and preserve its wildlife, parks and reserves.The Office of Water Security is a strategic policy team that advises the Minister for Water Resources; coordinates whole of Government water policy and programs; and works collaboratively with other Government agencies to develop, deliver and report on the Territory Water Plan.As a Policy Officer (AO6), your primary objective is to provide policy, engagement, coordination, and project management support to the Office of Water Security (OWS) in leading implementation of the Territory Water Plan and other strategic water policy reform projects and activities.Your key responsibilities include providing subject matter advice on strategic and policy issues, undertaking critical evidence-based analysis, and leading cross-agency and key stakeholder coordination, policy design, and project management for the development of complex and sensitive water policies, strategies, and initiatives. You will also be required to prepare, review, and coordinate high-level reports, briefings, and correspondence on water resource management and water security.As a Senior Policy Officer (AO7), your primary objective and responsibilities are similar to the AO6 level but are more focused on delivering complex policy reviews and project management support.This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your highly developed expertise and experience in water policy research, your ability to provide high-level strategic policy advice, and your strong conceptual and analytical skills.
