Premier and Cabinet(Organisation site) Performance Unit; Cabinet and IGR; The Cabinet Office; Brisbane CBD The Performance Unit in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet is seeking a Principal Policy Officer to contribute to our work supporting the accountability and transparency of Queensland Government. The successful candidate will lead our small team driving the delivery of Government priorities through reporting on commitments and decisions across the public sector. This position offers a unique insight into policy and program delivery from a whole-of-Government perspective. We are looking for someone with experience in business planning and strategic direction setting, building relationships with key stakeholders, and producing high-quality briefing documents who can use these skills to lead the work of the team. About Us: At the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC), our primary responsibility is to provide support and guidance to the Premier and Cabinet to effectively deliver on the government's priorities, commitments, decisions, and objectives for the betterment of the community. The Performance Unit, within Cabinet Services and Intergovernmental Relations, plays a central role in supporting and providing strategic advice to the Premier and Cabinet and working collaboratively with all Queensland agencies to drive delivery of government priorities including commitments and decisions. The Performance Unit are also the custodians of the Queensland Government Performance Management Framework policy (PMF), legislated by the Financial Accountability Act 2009, and lead improvement and capability work across agencies to improve agency performance management. Your opportunity: The Principal Policy Officer position in the Performance Unit is responsible for managing the workflow of the team. You will be responsible for planning reporting processes and task allocation across the team to successfully deliver timely reporting and ad hoc briefing to senior leadership within government. This role is also responsible for the management of the Performance Information Management System and the relationship with our external information technology provider. You will also work closely with the Director to set the team's strategic direction, identify strategic opportunities, and implement process improvements.
