The Policy Development Lead is part of a multi-disciplinary team working to support the establishment of Deakin's International Branch Campuses and plays a critical role in ensuring they are supported by robust policy frameworks that uphold Deakin's commitment to quality, transparency and accessibility. By leading the development of joint policies, recalibrating existing polices and establishing a roadmap for ongoing policy review, this role will have a significant contribution to the successful establishment and operation of Deakin's International Branch Campuses and ensuring students have the ability to make informed decisions relating to their study options.
As a Policy Development Lead, you will: Lead the development and approval process of joint policies tailored to support the operations of the new International Branch Campuses. Ensuring policies align to requirements of all Campus Partners, as well as third-party providers Provide clear advice on regulatory requirements and devise innovative solutions to policy problems emerging from different regulatory regimes. Build a joint policy library suitable for Deakin University and Partner Universities governing International Branch Campus operations. Deliver effective and efficient documentation of policy development processes, decisions and outcomes. Communicate effectively with internal and external Stakeholders to ensure transparency and understanding of policy changes and their implications Develop a comprehensive roadmap and methodology for the ongoing review and refinement of policies to accommodate International Branch Campuses across the entire policy library, including identifying key milestones, stakeholders and mechanisms for feedback and evaluation To be successful, you'll have: Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in public policy, international relations, or higher education administration Extensive experience in policy development Extensive experience working within a large scale and complex organisation Expert knowledge of systems, process and business improvement capabilities Experience designing effective solutions to complex business and technical problems Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating policies within complex organisational settings preferably in the higher education sector Strong understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and ability to navigate diverse international contexts effectively.
