About the Sovereign Capability & Supply Chains Division
The Sovereign Capability & Supply Chains Division collectively supports innovative and competitive businesses and industries by securing Australia's approach to sovereign industrial capability, ensuring supply chain resilience and crisis response, and enhancing industry participation in major projects.

Our positions in Industry and Manufacturing Division, and Sovereign Capability and Supply Chains Division provide exciting opportunities to:

Our ideal candidate
We welcome applications from candidates with diverse experience and professional and educational backgrounds who can demonstrate strengths in the following areas:

Can contribute to the development of advice to Government, including for consideration in Government budget processes
Developing and coordinating written material for executive and ministerial stakeholders, including meeting and event briefs, and Senate Estimates briefs
Strategic thinking to solve complex policy and regulatory problems
Strong policy analysis and analytical skills
Can communicate with influence, including written and verbal communication skills
Assisting with the management of complex projects with interdependent milestones, including establishing practical project management solutions
An ability to interpret a wide range of information, including economic information and data, and find new sources of information to give unique insights on policy issues
Stakeholder engagement skills with an ability to build stakeholder relationships both within the department and across government

What you will do
Adhering to the Work Level Standards for an APS Level 5 employee, you will:

Be able to undertake work that is complex or sensitive and operate under broad direction
Work independently and assist with coordinating the workflow and outcomes for your team
Make decisions which impact on the outcomes of your team's deliverables
Need to communicate clearly, persuasively, and convey information in a way that is tailored to the audience
Be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a network of key internal and external stakeholders.

Adhering to the Work Level Standards for an APS Level 6 employee, you will:

Be able to undertake work that is complex or sensitive and operate under limited direction
Exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role
Demonstrate sound decision-making and judgement to provide advice and deliver results that contribute to strategic priorities
Need to communicate clearly, persuasively, and convey information in a way that is tailored to the audience
Be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a network of key internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility
A degree or significant experience in a relevant field is highly desirable. Relevant fields include (but are not limited to): economics; industry and innovation policy, public policy, finance, law, commerce, econometrics, data science, stakeholder management, communication, program and project delivery, governance, and secretariat support.
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
