About the Role:    The Policy and Project Officer, reporting to the Senior Director Project Manager, will develop and implement policies and procedures to support the safety and wellbeing of students and staff in ACT public schools.
You will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure alignment with legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables: Collaborate with SMEs to create frameworks, policies, and procedures that promote safety and wellbeing in line with legislation.
Review and update existing policies, ensuring they are aligned with broader safety and wellbeing standards.
Develop initiatives and programs that facilitate effective policy implementation.
Prepare briefs and reports as required, ensuring high-quality documentation.
Liaise with stakeholders across various levels, fostering proactive and cooperative relationships to advance projects and policy objectives.
Contribute to the Project Management Office as part of a small, dynamic team, working both independently and collaboratively.
Mandatory Requirement: Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia.
Essential Selection Criteria: Proven experience in developing government policies or programs.
Ability to draft evidence-based policies, interpret legislation, and apply it effectively in a policy context.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders, provide feedback, and produce high-quality written briefs and reports.
Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in ICT, with an ability to leverage technology to achieve outcomes.
Sound judgment and the ability to review policies, improve compliance, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
Desirable Selection Criteria: Experience in policy development and management within the public sector.
Previous experience working in education or government sector APPLY NOW!
