Policy and Program Officer
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency Details: Working with Community Services Directorate (CSD) offers you the opportunity to directly contribute to supporting the Canberra Community. Everyday our diverse workforce collaborates and drives client centred services to assist the community in creating a safe and equitable environment across the ACT.
The Strategic Policy Division currently has a permanent vacancy for an Assistant Director to join the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs.
The Assistant Director Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs will contribute to strategic policy, governance, and advice to the ACT Government on matters of importance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the ACT.
The role will also contribute to project/s and actions in support of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019–2028 and the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, as well as contributing to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community priorities as they arise.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: All applicants will require demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
